Chickens Hisex is a favorite breed of many farmers. It would be more correct to say not even a breed, but a special type of highly productive laying hen of the Dutch cross breeding type. About them will be discussed.

Breed description

For those who are engaged in growing chickens professionally, probably, it will not be a new name for the chicken cross. This kind of hybrid of poultry obtained by breeding from several breeds. As for the chickens of the Hisex breed, they were bred on the basis of the birds White Leghorn and New Hampshire. That is why among this species there are as well as white layers, and brown or brown. Look at the photo.

The main distinguishing feature of these layers is a neat physique, light and graceful movements, as well as increased activity. In appearance, they are also very beautiful: they have a large comb and silky smooth feathers. But farmers love them not for external beauty, but for very high productivity. Today, this breed is considered one of the most egg-bearing.

Crosses Hisex, as we have said, are white and brown. Despite the fact that they were bred at the same time on the Dutch farm "Evribrid" from the same ancestors, the two species are slightly different from each other. Both externally and in performance.

White Hisex

These chickens, as seen in the photo, are distinguished by their relatively low weight - up to a maximum of 1.7 kilograms, high activity and mobility, as well as early maturation. As a rule, after 140 days the young individuals begin to trot. Egg production at an average age of 2–3 years (the most productive period) reaches 280 eggs per year. At the same time, the fruits are distinguished by high weight (63 grams) and very high nutritional value.

By the way, it is the chicken eggs of this breed that have the lowest cholesterol content. When planting such chickens, it is important to remember that they are rather picky in their content and require optimal conditions for both food and maintenance. As practice shows, even with small deviations birds already show stress. Also, these crosses need a high content of minerals in the feed.

Brown Hisex

This type of chickens belongs to the egg-and-meat type, and when creating it, breeders have already used four breed groups, among which are both Leghorn and Rhode Island. These layers are only yellow-brown in color, as in the photo, and differs from the white in appearance by a larger constitution. Dark Hisex reaches a weight of 2-2.4 kilograms and can produce up to 305 eggs per year. They, by the way, are distinguished by high strength and dark shell.

These chickens have differences in character. For example, in contrast to white, brown chickens are more phlegmatic, calm and very viable. Their bodies are more resistant to cold and fodder. Even with less food intake, they rarely reduce productivity. However, experts remind that all the breed indicators also depend on the characteristics of the content, and in different conditions appear differently.

When buying chickens of this type, you should also remember that after 2-3 years, their egg production rate decreases. And the broth, of course, will not very tasty. Such chickens (exactly white) have the so-called "rubber meat".

Today, on the basis of this breed, domestic breeders of the breeding plant "Ptichnoe", in the Moscow region, have created a new type of cross - "Zarya-17". In terms of productivity, these chickens are no different from foreign ancestors, but they are more adapted to our Russian conditions and not always high-quality feed.
