Method One

It is widely distributed among hunters. They use it on a decoy duck, which is tied to a peg or tree. Ask why the tied poor bird also cut the wings? Then you need to remember that it is desirable to do the trimming so that it does not disfigure the bird. After all, then it will scare away, and not attract their relatives, and this is a disaster for the hunter. Also, before this procedure is better to stock up a pair of hard gloves, as the duck will be quite painful to pinch his beak. And now let's describe the procedure itself.

Put on gloves, take a duck and sit on the chair. We put the bird between the legs sideways and pinch it with the knees so that it does not harm and so that it cannot get out. Then we take sharp scissors and straighten the free wing with our other hand. Now about how to cut it.

It must be remembered that the feather consists of a wide blade, a core or core, and a narrow blade. In order not to spoil the appearance of a duck, hunters cut off only a wide blade on all wing feathers. Thus the bird cannot fly far and high. It is also important to remember that it is always necessary to trim only one wing, then even flying will be very difficult.

This method is good for hunters, but not very suitable for poultry. This is due to the fact that still the ability to fly partially remains. Forces such a bird is easy enough to fly the two-meter fence and fly quite far from home.

Second method

In fact, this is a more advanced first method. It was also designed for hunting, but unlike the first method, the bird will not be able to fly here. Therefore, this option is well suited for domestic ducks. The preparatory steps for pruning are the same as before.

The trimming of the first flight feather occurs in the same way as in the first variant, that is, only the wide blade is removed. The second feather is shortened to half its length. The third primary feather is shortened, as well as the first, and the fourth - as well as the second. By such an alternation all duck feathers are shortened. Also, as in the first embodiment, the procedure is carried out with only one wing.

Third method

This method was designed specifically for households. It completely makes it impossible for a duck to fly and even fly into the air. Trimming carried out only one wing, as in the previous two versions. Preparatory activities are the same as in the first version.

Trimming in this case is much faster. A duck prepared for the procedure is shortened to all the feathers by half, or to be precise, they are cut before the tubular core appears. It is important to trim only one wing, because in the case of trimming both the bird will retain the ability to take off into the air.

It’s not worth worrying about feathery after such a procedure, as the feathers will grow back after the first molt. If your wards did not calm down after the first pruning and are also trying to escape from the territory of your farm in the next season, then the procedure should be repeated. It is also worth remembering that if necessary, it is possible to deprive the flight abilities of the birds in this way only once a season.
