The homemade chicken that eats the mash feels like a godfather to the king and a matchmaker to the minister. And thanks you for the rich table with regular eggs in the nest. However, the mash is slightly different in composition for laying hens in summer and winter. We will tell you now how to cook this chicken yummy.

Blender: what is it?

Mixed meat is a boiled or steamed mixture of vegetables, whole or crushed grain, mixed fodder, oilcake, protein, mineral and other additives necessary for poultry. Water is usually used to moisten the ingredients.

Such a diverse composition makes it possible to make the menu of domestic birds rich in proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins - precisely in the proportion that helps to maintain their health and increase egg production. As for the young, mash for chickens are the basis of their diet. After all, the chicken can not swallow whole grains. It is better for an adult bird to give mash on the first morning feed. In the evening it is better to prefer a cereal mixture or feed.

However, it is important to remember that wet food should not constitute more than 65% in the poultry diet. It is necessary to cook mash for chickens only once, as it deteriorates quickly. In the trough should be poured a third of its volume, so that birds do not throw ingredients on the ground. The bird should eat the made forage within 30-40 minutes. If it is absorbed faster, give supplements, and if something remains, reduce the portion.

The consistency should be crumbly - for the young and not liquid - for adult chickens. The rule is simple: the liquid should be one third the volume of this mixture.

In order for the digestion of the bird to proceed normally, another bowl should be put in the house, with large river sand or small gravel. Chopped shell or egg shells — the source of always desirable calcium for laying hens — can be poured into a bowl separately, leaving it in the house as a permanent dish. The shell is sometimes mixed with fodder chalk in a ratio of 1: 1. And, of course, birds should have constant access to clean water, which is best changed once every two or three days. On one layer per day it takes 200-250 milliliters.

The same applies to greenery. In winter in cold weather, in the absence of daily walking, a cabbage suspended in a barn or a nettle broom made of dried nettle will serve as an excellent gymnastic “device”. Chickens with pleasure jump and peck up these vitamin delicacies, which prevents their obesity.

Cooking mash correctly

How to make a mash for layers? There are many recipes for it, and each owner makes their own amendments to them. This food is convenient because it can also include residues from homemade meals: moistened bread, cereals, cottage cheese, peeling potatoes, vegetables from the garden, fruits from the garden. In the mash can include chalk or ground on a coffee grinder shell. Caring owners also add cake or meal, meat and bone, fish or blood meal, sunflower oil and special premixes.

Since the needs of the laying hens are different in different seasons, we will consider two options for home fodder for an adult bird - summer and winter. Consider cooking them separately.

Summer recipe

The summer version is different from the winter a lot of green fodder. We specify all ingredients in grams per one head, which is always convenient to count on the herd.

Ingredients

  • potatoes, greens, roots - 50;
  • grain - 45;
  • bran, oatmeal - 20;
  • legumes - 5;
  • cake, meal, fodder yeast - 7;
  • yogurt, cottage cheese - 10;
  • bone meal - 5;
  • chalk - 3;
  • fish oil - 1;
  • salt - 0.5.

And do not forget to walk their pets, so that they can fill the lack of proteins (worms and bugs) and vitamins.

Cooking

  1. To make a mash for chickens, boil the potatoes without prior cleaning, remove them, cool and chop them.
  2. Simultaneously with the potatoes, you can cook and carrots or beets, but not necessarily. In the warm season in the garden you can find other vegetables - zucchini, ripe cucumbers, squash, excess pumpkin ovary, etc. - they can also be used.
  3. Add the liquid.
  4. Pour the crushed grain or its mixture, bran, salt, bone meal or fish meal, soybean meal or sunflower meal. Leftovers from boiled fish will do.
  5. Next, proceed to cutting "salad" for poultry, consisting of all kinds of edible greens: nettle and dandelion, poultry mountaineer and meadow clover, alfalfa and wheat grass. Beware of only poisonous plants in the menu: hemlock, cycuta, hellebore, autumn crocus. Do not forget that you have tops of vegetables in the garden — onions, beets, cabbage, carrots, garlic, rutabagas, radishes. Enriching the hen menu with greens is especially important when the bird is kept in a pen, where a week later the soil resembles lunar soil.

This is interesting: in summer, the need for calcium in laying hens is more - chalk, shells or shells are 10-15% more than in winter.

Good summer days are also used by good hosts for harvesting hay for poultry, as well as brooms from nettle. In winter, the chopped herbal mixture you will include in the mash instead of fresh greens. But the hens should not overeat: this is fraught with obesity and a decrease in egg production. The author of the channel "Garden +" has its own version of the summer mash. Do not miss.

Winter recipe

The chicken mash does not contain fresh greens in winter and may include factory premixes that enrich the ration of the hens to maintain their health and preserve egg production. Cook in cold water or warm water.

Ingredients

Per winter bird in grams requires:

  • boiled potatoes - 100;
  • grains - 65;
  • bran - 10;
  • legumes - 6;
  • grass meal - 5-7;
  • meal or meal - 7;
  • yogurt, skim milk or warm water - 100;
  • bone meal - 2;
  • chalk - 3;
  • fish oil - 1;
  • salt - 0.5.

Make sure that your bird receives fat-soluble vitamins A, E and D. They are added to the mash, following the instructions. Like in summer, the hens will thank you for the juicy ingredients - pumpkin, rutabaga, zucchini, carrots.

Cooking

Preparation of winter mash is similar, only the liquid must be warm. Water should be heated in the house. Winter is the time for harvesting spruce branches or pine branches. Chopped needles can be added to the mash instead of grass meal. Give the bird and hay stored in the summer.

By following these simple recipes, you will find many eggs in nests even in winter, and your bird will be cheerful and healthy.

And you give your hens the mash?
