The breed was bred in France by breeding a wild crawl, Russian ermine and Baverenovsky. This species was put on public display in 1913 in the capital of the French state. And after a couple of years, it was distributed in England and in the Netherlands, and after another five - in Germany. In the UK, Chinchilla rabbits added weight and size - they were crossed with a giant rabbit. Thus, instead of a pair of kilograms, eared animals began to weigh four or more.

View Soviet chinchilla was bred in the USSR in the XX century in the 60s. The rabbit of this breed was crossed with a white giant, so that the species adapted to local conditions.

At the moment, the breeders are breeding both normal and large individuals of this species. The average weight of an ordinary eared ear is about two kilograms. Their ears and head are medium in size, and the body is short and thin. Large representatives of this breed can boast of good musculature and strong limbs. The average weight of a large individual is approximately four kilograms.

According to the standard, an adult rabbit should have a round body, but rather compact and elastic. The length of the body is approximately 40-50 cm. The girth of the chest is close to 30-37 cm. Strong muscles cover the strong bones of the animal.

As for the color, the color of wool in rabbits of this breed is gray-blue, like in chinchillas. The structure of the fur is also very fluffy, thick and elastic, evenly distributed throughout the little body of the animal. On the tummy and around the eyes the color of the fur is lighter than usual, and at the ends of the ears it is darker. Another feature of the species is the color of the eyes, which may be gray, brown or blue. In girls, under the chin, you can see the dehydration - a special fat fold.

Reviews breeders

The description is good, but reviews, as they say, are always better. First of all, it is worth noting that breeders note the low demands of animals. They not only “pay” well for consumed food, but also are distinguished by increased survivability.
