As the name implies, Faverol is a breed of chickens bred in France. It was named in honor of a small French estate, where it was first obtained on the basis of local chickens Gudan and Mantsky. Later, breeding work continued with the involvement of Silver Dorking and Cochinquin.

Breed description

At the beginning of the development, the chicken Faverol was bred and raised in separate private farms, and their meat was produced for some local restaurants. In terms of taste and characteristics of a dish with meat, Fireball was valued higher than the Plymouthrock meat that was popular at the time. Later, the fame of the products became so great that other European countries became interested in the breed. Thus, in Germany in the middle of the 19th century, the first production selection, Faverol-Lahshuner, emerged.

In addition to its production qualities, the breed Faverol is known for its beautiful and unusual appearance. Birds are often led by lovers of decorative rocks as an ornament to their collection. A distinctive feature of both chickens and cockerels - the presence of large sideburns and fluffy plumage on the legs.

Manufacturing quality

Fireball refers to the meat type of chickens. Their products have won love among the most sophisticated gourmets. Many chefs say that the meat of the Firewall to taste can be compared only with the "ripening" pheasant. Softness, aroma, juiciness and extraordinary tenderness are the main gastronomic features of these chickens. With a sufficiently large mass (2.8-3.4 kilograms) the bone in the carcasses is thin, massive chest and very fleshy back part.

In egg production, the Firewall is not inferior to other universal breeds. Chickens ripen early, quickly gain weight and in the first year of life are ready to produce about 180 eggs per year. At the same time, the eggs are large and heavy, about 60 grams. For those who appreciate good productivity with little need for expensive feed, the birds of the breed Firewell is an excellent choice for the household.

In females, the chest and abdomen are light, and the back, wings and neck are reddish in color, for which the coloring got its name. In addition to the salmon color of the hen Fireol, there are black, white, ermine and blue.

Characteristics and content

Fireball is a calm home breed. Chickens have a unique balance, bordering on phlegm. They stand for a long time or sit in one place, looking at the surroundings. They are also gullible and tame.

If you want to have this breed of domestic chickens, remember, birds quickly gain weight, eat a lot and get fat quickly. At the same time the meat loses its taste and characteristics. It is important not only to monitor the diet of feathered pets, for its balance. But also for the amount of food eaten. Let the birds better be underfed than they will be obese.

In our country, Fireball is a rare breed. You can meet these beautiful chickens only in the courtyard of a few amateur poultry farmers.
