The maintenance of pigs of traditional breeds and care of the Vietnamese pigs differ somewhat among themselves. Growing herbivorous vislobryushi pigs is not so expensive, they grow rapidly, reaching sexual maturity by 4-5 months. Asian pigs have a friendly character, have an excellent appetite, disease-resistant immune system, and easily tolerate the climate of central Russia. Let us consider in more detail all the nuances.

High performance pigs with a good appetite

The herbivorous viscose-breeded pigs bred in Vietnam have become very popular in Russia in recent years. Due to their small size, it is fashionable to grow them in small farmsteads, and the small amount of grain feeds consumed by the piglets significantly reduces the cost of their meat and lard.

Vietnamese vislobryushie piglets have a knocked out body and at slaughter they give up to 12-15% of waste (in a usual pink pig it is 30%) with 65-70% yield of juicy meat. 80% of their diet is grass, weeds, tops, hay, and dry corn stalks (in winter), which are usually agricultural waste.

It is noticeable that the maintenance of Vietnamese piglets can not only reduce the cost of cleaning and removal of waste, but also provide the farm with high-quality meat, the cost of which is much lower than analogues.

Owners of high quality meat

Depending on the type of feeding, a breeder of visually bruised pigs can get tender piglet, dietary meat with a small amount of fat, bacon with numerous meat veins, and not fat, with excellent taste. Each of these varieties of pork has a high market demand and is popular with gourmets.

Vietnamese pig meat:

  • light pink color, when roasting gets a light cream color;
  • different juicy and has a delicate flavor;
  • contains 7-10 times less cholesterol than traditional pork;
  • refers to the delicious varieties;
  • fat layers on meat thin and uniform;
  • bacon has a large number of meat layers;
  • fat on the back does not exceed 3.5 cm.

Pork is great for cooking any boiled and fried foods, grill, kebabs, as well as for salting and smoking.

They love fresh air and warmth.

The content of the visrubry pig is available even for a resident of a small private house who does not have any skills in pig farming. To do this, it is enough to equip a warm and spacious pigsty in which the pig will feel comfortable and be able to move a lot.

The generally accepted norm is the use of buildings constructed of wood, brick or cinder block for equipment of a pigsty or pig-breeding farm. Ceilings in them should be high enough to provide a large amount of air.

Vietnamese vislobryushie pigs love when a lot of fresh air in the pigsty. In such conditions, they feel great, have a stable appetite and quickly gain weight. Therefore, good ventilation must be provided in the room. The farmer must make sure that there are no drafts.

If possible, it is necessary to provide for the presence of windows on the pig farm, through which sunlight will fall into it. Otherwise, you need to install a lighting system, with a daily work schedule of at least 10-12 hours.

Pigs do not like to dig the ground

Proper equipment of the pig farm does not require the laying of a concrete floor. Vietnamese piglets do not like to dig the ground, so it is quite enough to firmly tamp the clay floor, although it is still better to make a dense concrete screed or pour the bulk mixture. This will greatly simplify the process of cleaning the room and will avoid the development of pathogenic bacteria and mold.

At least two thirds of the pigsty should be covered with boardwalk. This will enable Vietnamese piglets to independently choose the place of their main pastime.

As a rule, in the summer, they spend more time on clay or concrete, cooling their bodies, and in winter they prefer to lie down on warmer boards. The fattening pen should be spacious and allow the pigs to move a lot, feeding their appetite and burning excess fats. Access to food feeders and drinking water with clean water should be made free.

Themselves monitor the cleanliness of the bed

Proper maintenance and care of Vietnamese breed pigs requires compulsory equipment for them separate pens in which animals can rest at night.

The peculiarity of the visorous fish piglets is their cleanliness. They never defecate in places of rest, from which they themselves periodically try to remove contaminated litter.

Experts recommend to divide the territory of the pig farm into several machines, each of which should have a size of about 4-4.5 square meters. m. A standard divorce provides for keeping two gilts in such a cage, sows with a brood of pigs or one boar-producer.

In some cases, for Vietnamese boars grown for reproduction, it is enough to equip a smaller machine of 3 square meters. m. In it, an aggressive animal with fangs up to 15 cm will not be able to move much.

Between the machines for visually blasted animals must necessarily be a passage sufficient for the passage of the trolley on which the products of their vital activity are exported.

Without walking income will not be

For the maintenance of Vietnamese pigs is extremely important to ensure for them the possibility of free movement during daylight hours.

In the summer, animals should spend most of their time in the walking area, the size of which is not less than 1 hundred square meters per visually bastard pig. It is best to plant such an open-air cage with grass that Vietnamese pigs will tweak on their own while eating.

On such a site, there should be plenty of clean drinking water, as well as a large amount of greenery, including tops of agricultural plants and weeds produced in a natural way.

Watch out for the kind of greens in the open-air cage of Vietnamese vislobryushim pigs is not worth it, since these animals at the genetic level are able to determine the poisonous plants and will never eat them.

An open-air cage must be equipped with a wide canopy under which pigs will be able to hide from the scorching sun, as well as build a mud basin to rid animals of blood-sucking parasites. You can dig one or more logs that pigs can scratch their backs about.

Warming up pigsty in the winter

Heat-loving Vietnamese piglets is undesirable to keep a long time outdoors in the autumn-winter time. Despite their strong immunity and resistance to temperature extremes, they can catch a cold because their hanging belly freezes, because it practically touches the ground.

To get juicy and delicious meat, they need to be driven at least once a day for 8-15 minutes, forcing them to move at high speed. Whistling piglets should sweat heavily, which will not allow the fat to accumulate in their bodies in excess.

After running Vietnamese piglets need to drive into the premises of a pig farm, in which there are no drafts. The optimum air temperature in it should be about +20 degrees Celsius. In the Russian reality, it can be maintained using gas or stove heating, or more expensive electrical infrared devices.

Mandatory feeding cereal porridge

There is a widespread belief that it is enough to feed high-boiled pigs with grass and hay in order to get a large amount of delicious meat, but this is not at all the case.

With this diet, the Vietnamese pig will grow slowly, and its meat will be more rigid and have streaks.

Therefore, in terms of the pig farm, Vietnamese pigs are necessarily given a variety of top dressing. The most common are cereals from cereal mixtures, which are steamed with boiling water and kept warm for at least 12 hours.

Barley, wheat, and rye are best suited for building muscle mass, and oats, corn, and peas for growing the sebaceous layer. Read more about this in the article "What is fed Vietnamese pigs."

Perfectly suited as an additional feed for high-boiled pigs, pumpkins, zucchini and carrots. You need to be on your guard with fodder beet, as it can cause bloating and worsen the overall condition of the piglets.

If a viscerati piglet has started bloating, it is imperative to drive it over the aviary without fail, and to remove fodder beets from the daily diet, adding only occasionally to the feed.

The content of sows and boars manufacturers

Now consider how to care for adult animals, especially visually blasted sows with milk offspring. Due to the fact that the pig pig constantly produces milk, which feeds the babies, it should be better fed and maintained in special conditions.

Vietnamese sows with their offspring should be placed in individual machines. They need to provide access to warm drinking water and give easily digestible food.

In addition to traditional herbs and vegetables, females need to steam cereal from cereal mixtures, which add whole cow milk and raw eggs before feeding. The dish should not be liquid, and the ratio of grain flour and water is 1 to 2. At least 1 tablespoon of salt is added to each food bucket to give food more flavor and increase milk production.

The fish-boar boar also requires enhanced nutrition, including whole milk, reverse, and chicken eggs.

Some experts recommend that adult Vietnamese boars break their fangs, which pose a serious threat to others. But in most cases this is not done, because on farms it is common to rotate and replace producers after 2-3 years with younger and more prolific ones.

Care of dairy pigs

Particular attention should be paid to the breeding of Vietnamese dairy pigs, which can later become new producers, or be used to produce tasty meat and lard.

Newborn piglets are very sensitive to cold. During the period of farrowing in the maternity ward of the pigsty it is necessary to ensure the temperature of 30-32 degrees Celsius. From birth at home or on a large livestock farm, they must have access to the colostrum given off by the mother.

Often they write that the visorous breeze Vietnamese sows quietly breed without assistance and monitor the feeding of their babies. But it's not always the case.

If first-breed pigs, which lead 5-10 babies, cope with them quite well, then the old sows, which result from 12 to 18 piglets, simply physically cannot feed them all.

The fact is that the Vietnamese pig has 12 nipples, some of which may not be filled with milk. That is why, at least once every three hours, the breeder is required to exercise control over the machine, bringing hungry piglets to the mother's nipples. For more details on this, see the article “Keeping Vietnamese pigs at home”.

Pigs with strong immunity

Vietnamese vislobryukhie pigs are known for innate immunity to major diseases, which is laid in the first days of life, along with consumed sow milk. If, for various reasons, a newborn piglet does not receive the mother’s milk, but is artificially fed with dairy mixes, its body becomes weakened and may be infected.

In the first days after farrowing, most Vietnamese piglets suffer from anemia and they must be administered with iron-containing preparations into their bodies.

To avoid rickets, fish oil containing vitamin D and other multivitamin complexes prescribed by a veterinarian are added to the food.

For the proper formation of the jaw and the growth of teeth, it is necessary to give the pigs some dry grain (preferably, easily digestible oats), which they can chew on their own.

Vaccination recommended

Due to the fact that in conditions of farm Vislobryukhie pigs in contact with other animals that are carriers of dangerous diseases, they require compulsory vaccination. Best of all, if vaccines Vietnamese piglets make employees of the veterinary service.

An experienced veterinarian will be able to inspect the pigsty’s pets, determine which vaccine is needed and hold it at the appropriate time.

For a farm that grows a small amount of Vietnamese pigs, it is not necessary to vaccinate all the piglets listed in this table:

Lethal age has its own characteristics

Fattening piglets, as a rule, are slaughtered when they reach the age of 7-8 months and weighs 70-80 kg. This is the optimal age at which the right ratio of meat and fat is observed in the carcass, and the quality of these products fully complies with generally accepted standards.

However, in order to save feed, some farmers prefer to keep baby-pigs up to 5-6 months old. By this age, pigs gain 50-60 kg of live weight, but their meat has a less dense structure and looks too light. Young pork is also popular with gourmets and is actively purchased by catering.

For thicker fat or high-quality Vietnamese pig bacon, it is best to keep up to 10 months. By this time, the fish-belly animal reaches a weight of 110-120 kg, although the amount of its muscular tissue is almost the same as the eight-month-old pig.
