Surely any of us at least once in my life heard of a rodeo or saw it. This beautiful and very dangerous type of competition is hard not to remember if you once found out about it. Let's find out together the most interesting facts about bulls rodeo, the video of which will be an interesting addition to the text!

What is a rodeo?

Rodeo on the bulls - North American traditional longtime sport, which was introduced into modern life by American and Mexican cowboys. It is believed that the very first competition of this type was held in the town of Prekos (North America) in 1883. Another name for these competitions is horse racing. They are of two kinds - on bulls and on horses. We will tell exactly about the rodeo, held on the bulls. The next video is a story from an American competition called "Rodeo Hard Youth Bull Riders".

Little about the origin

Rodeo was born as an ordinary cowboy job - the service of those who "went after the cows", took care of them, grazed, caught, branded and even tamed! The first mentions of this kind of detour of horses and bulls (namely, it all began) refer to the 1700 year. The first riders were the Spaniards, namely - the conquistadors, whose missions were livestock work. It was the Spaniards who first mastered the art of arcane and the skill of working with aggressive animals.

How do the races?

Horse racing implies strict order, the division into categories of shows and their own system of evaluation and accumulation of points. All this in combination gives the viewer the opportunity to watch a colorful and active show, which keeps in suspense from the very beginning to the finish.

Choosing a bull

Choosing an animal for a rodeo is an important matter. A bull for such an event will never be taken from anywhere. There is a special team of specialists who select animals on the basis of pedigree qualities, breeding line, and even character. It is interesting that, outwardly, they may not be of the same type - and smaller, and larger, and faster, and calmer. Before the competition, animals undergo special training, during which the male is stuffed into the back of a stuffed dummy, imitating a rider.

Already trained animals are well aware of how to behave in the arena, where to go, they are even clearly happy with the release on the field and are very fond of attention! After a cowboy falls or jumps to the ground, animals almost always run to the gate, as if to show that the duel is over. We bring to your attention the video from the American rodeo Ellensburg Rodeo Xtreme Bull Riders (final).

Rules and participants

A cowboy during a rodeo on bulls can be held on the back of an animal only with one hand, and, of course, legs. If the rider on the back of the beast sustains a period of time equal to 8 seconds, without touching the animal and himself, he wins the victory. A cowboy always uses a braided flat rope to hold a bull on his back. She tied up the animal immediately behind the front pair of legs.

The rider wraps the end of the rope on a gloved hand, and then, holding on to it, tries not to fall out of the saddle. If after the expiration of the time the rope is not untied and does not easily fall out of the hand, special "insurers" help the participant.

At the expiration of the scoring time, the judges give points to the brave jockey. Moreover, the estimates are made as a bull, and a cowboy. The rating system implies points from 1 to 25. The judging is carried out by two people, so the best bull tamer (and the most furious bull) get a total of one hundred points in total. By the way, the four-legged aggressors also have their own "coolness" scale. The angrier, more aggressive and more rigorous bull, the more for holding on it gets points cowboy.

The choice of "transport" riders falls by lot. They sit on the bulls still in the pen, and then on a signal, after the opening of boxing, the most enchanting part of the show begins - horse racing and “dancing” with the bull. But not only the brave jockey is in the arena, so-called clowns or bullfighters are also there. They tease the beast so that it will not pay attention to the fallen or descended rodeo participant. The place of "sitting out" clowns - special barrels that ferocious bull can even roll around the arena!

Thus, clowns also receive their share of attention. Between them there are also competitions where they choose the very-most. All this is recorded on video, broadcast live and recorded on many TV channels and online channels.

Prizes

At present, as before, the rodeo is sponsored by private entrepreneurs, industrial chambers, as well as local city authorities. Prizes are cash rewards, which are formed from membership fees and donations from patrons, as well as expensive belt buckles. The active body that manages all types of rodeo (adults, youth, children) is the Association. They are located in all regions where competitions take place. To date, the largest of them is the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (USA).

Additionally, items such as cars, saddles, bull or horse trailers, and other rewards can be added as rewards. Further watch video from the American races on bulls.
