May 19, we purchased 7 chickens from the poultry farm. They promised that they would rush right away. Unfortunately, they bring 2-3-4 eggs per day. Once - on June 5 there were 7 pieces (hooray!). But all this is not the most important thing ... One chicken carries eggs without shells, although every day I add crushed shells and alternately shell rock. I crush the shell with my hands. I can not identify the culprit. Tell me what am I doing wrong? (Galina)
Galina, according to your description, I can say that you are doing everything correctly (disregarding the regime, the conditions, the full diet and other things that you did not describe). You should not worry so much. First, the chickens were stressed when they moved to a new place, they need time to adapt. Secondly, most likely, you have a different diet at home than at the poultry farm.
A change in feed and regime could also lead to a decrease in productivity.
But the most important thing is that you need to take into account the individual characteristics of the layers. Not every individual can rush every day. The norm is considered in a day, therefore your number of eggs is basically normal. On farms, chickens are fed with special nutritional supplements in order to increase their productivity. I note that my chickens also do not rush every time - they have their own biological regime.
Now, as for eggs without shell, this is a more important issue. Most likely, this layer has a broken metabolism or there is a sharp shortage of some elements. In this case, it may be not only calcium guilty, but also other substances. I advise you to buy your birds special vitamin supplements, and still give a lot of greenery. I think in time everything will be restored.
